Good songs have continued to make strong impacts on the lives of the people. These days, people are talking about African songs and have adopted the habit of playing these songs anywhere they are.

Just recently, I met a talented Ghanaian singer, William Ato Ankra more commonly known as Akoo Nana.
With a number of performances at major festivals and concerts in his homeland as well as a few awards to his credit, he has carved a niche for himself in the Ghana Music Industry and hopes to expand his scope to other places on the continent.

He released his first album, AFA in 2007 after he had won the minds of music lovers in Ghana with songs like Obenewaa and Shordy which featured late hiplife veteran Castro and Reggy Zippy respectively. In 2010, he released his second album, TIME TO EXPLODE with exciting hit songs like Mugu. And then in 2011, this amazing talent released his third album, My Pick.

He tells Christian Ken Aniche that his inspiration is drawn from this admiration for top Artistes like Bob Marley, MC Hammer, Daddy Lumba, Morgan Heritage, Tupac and Sizzla. Their all-round mix of creativity gives him reasons to work harder.

Akoo Nana is the next big thing to happen in Africa. He has worked on a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and during the official launching, he went on stage with bare-chested dancers at the 2014 Tigo Unplugged Concert. He's currently signed up to Frontline Entertainment and managed by Qwabena Addo, the Chief Executive Officer of Brain Minds.

Few weeks ago, Akoo Nana stormed Nigeria to shoot a Music video with the Limpopo Master, Kcee and his rave-of-the-moment label mates, Harry Song and Skibii. The video was directed by fast-rising music director, Avalon Okpe and is yet another in a series of amazing Ghana-Naija collaboration. The music video which also features the 2015 Most Beautiful Girl in Lagos, Queen Lynette Ndukwe.
