My brown skinned- girl
Flesh of my flesh, blood of my blood
You lord over my heart
Thoughts of losing you tears my soul apart
Loving you is a craft I have mastered
When I see you hurt, bolts loosen in my medulla
I kept running round tracks the other day
When your temperature shot up and you lost a cup of blood
My heart beat turned into bleats ‘cos you were ill
Hating you is that beast I would always kill
My brown-skinned girl blessed with so much skill
Bone of my bone, my heart beat
You remind me of your mom,
Thoughts of her make me cold but your presence brings warmth
Sometimes I see her silhouette but it’s a mere illusion
A mirage of some sort!
She probably still lives on this planet but left us to abandonment because
I could not afford dough for our daily bread
That was her illustration of ‘true love’
Above all, you can’t even miss someone you hardly knew
I miss her but my soul finds solace in the fact that I have signed a pact with you.
I love the positive impact you have in my life
You have become part of me and I will never miss you.
My brown-skinned girl, we will live and die together.
Baby, Daddy loves you.
